OMSI, Zoo, and Christmas Valley

Been a little while since I've posted, but I have a new video, some pics, and a new weight loss graph.

So, the a couple weeks ago now Robin, Tim, Kendra and I took advantage of a weekend that Kendra had off and went to Portland.  Took it pretty easy at the hotel after dinner on Friday night (Thanks to Kenny Bob, we got hooked up at the downtown Hilton super cheap!).

We went to OMSI on Saturday.  This was my first time to OMSI, and Tim and I were like little kids in the candy store.  Even if you aren't a nerdy engineer, that place is sweet!  I wish I had gone there as a kid, I'd be an even bigger nerd!  Saw an IMAX movie which normally would have made me drool, but was really cool because of it's monstrous size.  Also took a tour of our last diesel powered submarine  On Saturday night we actually met up with a co-worker of mine who happened to be up for his birthday, along with his wife.  We met them at a sushi bar and proceeded to take down IPA's like we had never heard of them before.  After making it to another couple of bars, one of which the bartender accidentally gave my friends credit card to a stripper, we called it a night..   Hit the Zoo on Sunday.  It's about what it sounds like, a whole lot of animals in cages.  Pretty neat, but I could do without the season pass.  It doesn't sound like too much, but it made for a busy weekend.    We all had a good time and it was a really fun trip.

Here are some of the highlight photos:

I am back down to 374, my lowest weight yet.  Now I just need to keep going down.  I am bored and need somebody to help motivate me!  I'm in a wedding this July, what's a good goal for that?  Maybe 350?  Let's say 350 by July 15th. As you can see, Lake has by some miracle, been losing weight.  He's been eating like a pregnant woman, but still is losing weight, it's so frustrating!

Went to Christmas Valley this Sunday.  Had a fun time, but still ended up colliding with Tyler.  That was an accident.  But after an accident such as this, most people would take it easy right?  Evidently, that's not what goes through my retarded brain.  Instead, I go wide open and climb the hill, then almost hit my other buddy.  That one was all my fault.  Here's the video of that, the action starts about half way through.

Gained a few, Lost a few.

So, I've been a slacker pretty much lately.  In posting, and in writing on the Weblog.  As you will see in the following two graphs, I sucked really hard at losing weight for a week and gained a few pounds, but then I lost them.  Now I'm back to where I was and need to kick it up a notch!!!

Other than that, not much is new or exciting.  The six hour race I was going to do was canceled due to a huge amount of rain, so it is now March 27th.  I also have GoPro footage of my RC car running the track in my back yard, and Kendra's brother, Kevin, racing in Redmond.

Awesome News!

So today has been a god day.  First of all, I promptly wake up to find that I am down four (4) lbs this morning!  Which only gets better because Mike was up an entire pound, and Ryan quit the competition entirely.  Mike's weight gain is great because it is not only a step in the other direction, but the psychological detriment was severe.  He says things like "I feel like I've wasted the last three weeks.." in a voice that would almost bring tears to a sympathetic eye.  I, however, have no sympathy and am looking to take advantage of this minor victory as much as possible.  Ryan is a twat and constantly sick so he bailed after no immediate results.

Then, come to find out one of my best friends got engaged, so this has been a pretty awesome day.  I hope the rest of the week continues along this trend.  I'll keep you posted Friday hopefully about progress on the weight loss.  And yes, I realize I'm basically talking to myself, and optimistically three other people, but I don't care.

New Whip

Things are going really well right now for me. Friday, I was happy to hear the Haas VF2 four axis CNC mill was a go, and the check was to be cut on Monday.  This is excellent news, as now I can complete many really cool projects that I have been waiting to complete.  Bolt action 50 BMG, AR-15 Lowers, and a billet 17 hmr semi-auto just to name a few.

In addition to the good news at work, I spent Saturday looking for a clean 78-79 Ford in the Portland area.  This is a considerably larger area than most people tend to thing of when they picture the Portland area.  I am pretty sure Portland encompasses everything North of Salem to Vancouver, WA.  People from Portland don't like this generalization, nor do they find the humor in it.  But, to me, a street name differentiating one town from another doesn't make it a new town.  Sure, maybe they were different when my Grandparents were kids, but now they are the same.

Anyway, I found my pickup.  It is the most hideous baby shit gold you have ever seen.  The interior is super clean, and the body and trim is straight with the exception of some rust in two spots, and a couple dents in the bed.
So, that's my new baby.  It's ugly, but it will start looking better and better every day.

So far I've been a piece of crap in the diet department, I've flat-lined at 378 the last two weeks.  I have a dirtbike race in Washington this next Sunday, so I'm going to really be good this week to dominate the skinny kids trying to beat me!

Snow Day

Well, almost.  It should have been a snow day today.  Woke up to a good four inches of snow, who saw that coming?  Not me.  Got a little western on the drive in this morning, but made it in good shape.  I bet I passed 50 cars on the way in, but nobody was in the fast lane, so I can't complain.  Ended up getting to work only to find the power out.  It was on for a couple hours, then went out again at 9:45, and stayed out for the remainder of the day.  There wasn't a whole lot to do, so we pulled out a lot of stuck people.  Some retard in thought he could make it down a truck ramp and actually make it out.  I think not.  Rick's stroker pulled him out though, I'll post the video of that later for the Ford fans.

I didn't gain or lose any weight this Monday, so I feel pretty good about that.  I typically struggle the most with staying good on the weekends.  Hopefully this next Monday I'll be down another 5 or 8 lbs.

Caleb's Last Day

Caleb's last day is tomorrow, so naturally, we had to screw with all of his stuff.  Initially, we thought that is would be best to just glue everything down to his desk. That has been done to death though, so we had to keep thinking.  Coating just about everything in anti-seize was the next brain wave to come on, but he wears gloves, so that was out of the question.  Finally, we decided to coat everything he has in aluminum foil.  Hardly original in the grand scheme of things, but a first at my place of work.  I think that it turned out well.  Check out the results of two hours and seven rolls of aluminum foil.

So tomorrow is the preliminary weigh day, it really doesn't count, but it will give us an idea of how bad we've been over the weekend when we weigh officially on Monday.  I've been very good this week and anticipate about a 5-8lb weight loss tomorrow.  Hopefully by Monday I'll be down a full 10 or better.  I'll keep you posted.

Fucking Cowards

I arrived home from a wonderful workout to find my phone alerting me to a text message.  My hopes of seeing the familiar text "On my way home." from my beautiful fiance were replaced with feelings quite the opposite.  I read that a friend's mom saw police at my 84 year old grandma's house, just letting me know.  I called my Grandma only to find out that somebody had broken in.

She saw that the door had been opened, peel out marks in the driveway, and broken light bulbs in the yard (wtf, broken light bulbs?).  Thankfully she knew better than to go in, and went into Malin to get police.  The fucking spineless pieces of shit violated the sanctity of her home to steal her jewelery, guns, and electronics.  She will likely never feel safe living alone in the country again.  All this just to finance their next fix.  So help me God, if I find out whoever did this the police had better get to them before I do.

In the middle of the day no less!  She was only gone from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Who does that?  In hindsight, I'm very glad she wasn't home.  I suspect somebody desperate enough to park in broad daylight outside the very home they are breaking in, wouldn't have cared if somebody was within.  I can only hope they try this again to somebody else, only this time with the resident armed within.

Normally I'd be very happy with the results of my weight loss, but I'm still super pissed.  Anyway, I'm down another 2lbs over the course of the weekend.  Check out the results.
